The Brown Line (LRT) will be planned as a ground-level line. The line is planned to serve the southern portion of the Tel Aviv metropolitan area including the cities of Lod, Ramle, Be’er Yaakov, and Rishon Lezion, and to connect them also to other mass transit lines.

The length of the Brown line with all its branches in approximately 30 km.

From west to east: The line starts in the west of the city of Rishon Lezion at the parking and maintenance depot, passes through the planned new residential and commercial complex in the west of the city, and continues eastward through the Rishon Lezion city center. The line is planned to pass through the grounds of the Tzrifin camp which is going to be cleared for residential and employment areas, and connects to Asaf Harofe Hospital. The line continues eastward through the Be’er Yaakov city center to Ramle. At the train station, the line splits into two branches: one continues eastward to the Ramle-Gezer-Modiin station, and the other continues northward to the Lod city center and a future connection to the army bases planned for the north of the city.
